How to use LineCheck
Everything you need to check numbers, read the results and get the most out of your coins.
1. Create your account
Sign up with your name, email and a password. We email you a 6-digit code. Enter it to verify your email, then log in. Forgot your password? Use Reset password and we'll email you a code.
2. Buy coins
Each number you check costs 2 coins. To buy coins:
- Open Pricing and pick a package.
- Send the amount to our bank account shown on that page.
- Send the payment screenshot to us on WhatsApp (there's a button on the page).
- Fill in the "Tell us you've paid" form. We confirm the payment, add the coins and email you.
3. Check one number
On the Checker, type a US number (with or without dashes) and press Check. LineCheck takes about 10 seconds to gather the details, then shows the city, region, carrier, line type, status, call activity and disconnect reports.
4. Check a whole list
Go to Bulk check. Paste numbers one per line, or upload a CSV or TXT file. For CSV files we find the phone column on each row for you, so exports from your CRM or dialer work as they are. You can check up to 10,000 numbers at a time. The page shows the cost before you start, and you can download all results as a CSV.
5. Read the results
| Doesn't exist | The number was never given out to any phone company, so it can't be dialed. Remove it. |
| Not active yet | The number range exists but isn't switched on yet. Calls won't connect today. |
| Reported disconnected | Customers' dialers found this number disconnected in the last 90 days. Skip it. |
| Recent call activity | We've seen calls from this number in the last 90 days, a good sign it's in use. Caller ID can be faked, so treat it as a strong hint, not a guarantee. |
| Valid, not verified | The number is real and dialable. We have no recent signal either way about whether someone answers. |
| Invalid number | It isn't a 10-digit US number. Check for typos or missing digits. |
| Outside US coverage / Toll-free | Canadian, Caribbean and 8xx numbers aren't covered yet. They still cost a check, so remove them from big lists first. |
Carrier and line type (mobile, landline or VoIP) are for the company the number was first given to. If someone moved their number to a different company, it still shows the original one.
6. Report disconnected numbers (free)
When your dialer marks numbers as disconnected or "not in service", upload them on your Account page. Your own checks show them as "Reported disconnected" right away, for 90 days. When a second customer reports the same number, everyone sees it, so every check gets more accurate. It costs nothing.
7. Use the API
Create an API key on your Account page, then send it in the Authorization header.
# One number
curl "https://linecheck.carrierfence.com/api/check?number=7049652256" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer lc_live_..."
# Up to 10,000 numbers
curl -X POST https://linecheck.carrierfence.com/api/check \
-H "Authorization: Bearer lc_live_..." -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"numbers": ["704-965-2256", "(628) 201-7751"]}'
# Report disconnected numbers (free)
curl -X POST https://linecheck.carrierfence.com/api/dead \
-H "Authorization: Bearer lc_live_..." -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"numbers": ["704-965-2256"]}'Each result has status, label, carrier, lineType, state, rateCenter, reports, lastReported and deadReporters. The API allows 60 requests per minute. If you run out of coins it returns 402; if you go over the limit it returns 429.
