What the results mean

Doesn't exist: The prefix (first 6 digits) was never assigned to any phone company, so the number can't be dialed.
Not active yet: The prefix is assigned but not switched on in the network yet.
Reported disconnected: A customer's dialer found this number disconnected in the last 90 days.
Reported calling recently: Someone filed an FTC complaint about a call from this number in the last 90 days. Caller ID can be faked, so this is a hint, not proof.
Valid, not verified: The number is real and dialable, but we have no signal about whether the line is connected right now.
Outside US coverage / Toll-free: Canada, Caribbean and 8xx numbers aren't in our data yet.

Line type is a guess based on the company the number was first assigned to. Numbers that were ported to another carrier (for example, a landline moved to a mobile plan) still show the original carrier and type.
